** MANY FORESTS AND TRAILS ARE CLOSED!!!
Remember that due to the late and wet spring many of our favorite trails are
still closed. For Minnesota public lands please check with the DNR
before you head our riding.
It is so very important that we be respectful of trail closures.
Closed means closed.
Remember: OHV Trails in Chippewa National Forest are closed during spring
breakup until May 1st.
** ATV Youth Safety Training Cancelled for Now
We ran into some scheduling problems, so we will not be holding a Youth Safety Class on May 21st.
We will have a new date soon.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
** Remember to Support the Crow Wing County Ft. Ripley - Pine Center
ATV Trail (comments accepted until May 5th)
Darrel Palmer, the president of the Central Lakes ATV Club in Nisswa, has
been to a number of our meetings, helped us build and grow the club and is
also a member of our club. He's done a lot for us, including working with
the Chippewa National Forest to help keep our trails and roads open in the
area.
Now it's our turn to do him a favor.
Please see his urgent email below. His club is trying to build a trail from
Pine Center to Ft. Ripley. It's in the public comment period and a lot of
people are calling and writing Crow Wing County against the trail. Darrel
needs us to call or email in favor of the trail. It does make a difference,
believe me. There is also a link to show the trail route.
When you have a few minutes, please read the email below, and send a quick
email to the county at the address shown. Or call if you like, that's good
too. It can be a short message, saying you are in favor of this trail idea
and why. If you live or work in Crow Wing County be sure to mention that, it
helps a lot.
Thanks for anything you can do to help Darrel. When it's our turn, I know he
and his club will be there for us.
