MAY

5 — Spring Meeting at The Hub

 

19 — Adopt-A-Highway Spring Cleanup  We need 12 or more volunteers to clean our 2 mile stretch of State 200. Meet at Huddle’s Resort in Whipholt at 10 am. Bags and pickup tools provided. Lunch paid for volunteers afterwards at Huddle’s (excluding drinks). 

 

19 — Club Ride: ATVAM 35th Anniversary Ride & Roast, McQuoid’s Inn, Isle, MN, next to Soo Line North ATV Trail. Schedule: Pancake breakfast 7:30 am, President’s Ride 10 am, Pig & Turkey Roast 4 pm. Open riding all day. Register at atvam.org or at the event.  $15 dinner tickets (kids under 10 free) A number of Woodtick Wheelers will be attending…watch for them there.

JUNE

2 — Nat. Trails Day / Club Ride: Hackensack To Foothills/Spider Lake. Leader: Andy Becker.   Meet on 1st Street by City Park at 9 am, plenty of trailer parking, take Cty 40 west (Class 1s in ditch) to Foot Hills State Forest trails, south to Spider Lake parking area / toilets. Bring lunch and beverage. 

 

9-11 — High-Lifter Quadna Mud Nationals, Hill City 

(not a club ride but lots of fun, some members will be there)

 

16 — Club Ride — Round River ATV Trails   Leaders: Paul & Kathleen Vashro (email: pav10@aol.com). Meet at Stompin’ Grounds at 9 am. Ride trail system. Have lunch afterwards in the Lodge (great burgers). Directions from Akeley: north on State 64 about 3 miles, watch for blue “Stompin’ Grounds” sign, entrance on left, drive in to large parking area. 

 

23, 10 am -- Club Ride Added!  (with Highway Cleanup optional)

Club Ride from Stony Lake to Huddle’s Resort on Leech Lake for lunch. Ride or trailer to driveway entrance to Dick Buche residence, 3759 Stony Drive (north 3.5 miles on Cty 122 from Cty 5). Park trailers on Stony Drive, stage there and club will ride as a group to Huddle’s, just 13 miles on easy Forest Roads in Chippewa National Forest.

 

Need 12+ volunteers to clean our Adopt-A-Highway stretch of State 200. (Too few people showed on our first try). Please help if you are able. Bags and pickup tools provide. With 12 people it only takes about 30-40 minutes. Club pays for volunteers’ lunch. Ride back to Stony in small groups after lunch.  

 

JULY 

4 (Wed) — Club rides in Longville Parade & Walker Parade. Ride Leader: Andy Becker Stage at Salem Lutheran Church parking lot at 10 a.m. Parade starts at 11 a.m. Decorate your ATV, toss candy to kids. Optional:  Also ride in the Walker Parade: City park stage, 2 pm start.

 

July 7 — _____________________

 

10 (Tue) — Club Rides in Hackensack Sweetheart Days Parade. Stage on 1st Street south of downtown at 5 p.m.  Parade starts at 6 pm. Bring candy to toss, decorate your ATV.

 

14 — Annual Meeting & Club Ride To Huddle’s. Starts at 10 am. Short meeting with elections, chance to buy gear and pay member dues. Then ride as a club 13 miles through Chippewa National Forest to Huddle's Resort on Leech Lake for a buffet lunch of pulled pork sandwiches and sides, compliments of the club. Return in small groups. Ride or trailer your ATV to meeting. Small trailers park on grass (watch for sign in driveway), large trailer park on Stony Drive. 

Directions from Hackensack: East on Cty 5 for 2.5 miles, left (north) on Cty 122 for 3 miles, road turns west (Stony Drive), 1 mile to 3879 Stony Drive (before the Y). Watch for signs. For more information: dvhalsey@gmail.com or 612-723-1987. See you there!

11 — Women’s Club Ride - Ride the Soo Line & Local Trails, and attend Remer Harvest Festival. Meet at Theresa Meyers residence just north of Remer. More details to come.

21-23 — Club Ride: ATVAM Fall Ride & Rally. Guided rides all day Saturday with clubs from across MN, with evening banquet and auction, lots of fun. Willow River, MN.

Thanks to a Polaris Trails grant, the Woodtick Wheelers were able to purchase a Polaris Sportsman 110 EFI to be used for youth safety training. 

Our club's ATV Safety Education Trailer was purchased with a $10,000 grant from the Polaris TRAILS program. Thousands of people have visited it at community events, where we passed out over 5,000 ATV maps, reg books and safety handouts. Thanks Polaris!
